No Cat is Truly Hypoallergenic

It’s a common question, but the truth is: no cat is 100% hypoallergenic. All cats produce a protein called Fel d 1, which is what usually causes allergies. Some people may react less with Ragdolls, but there’s no such thing as a cat that won’t trigger allergies at all.

How Purina Can Help

Thankfully, Purina created Pro Plan LiveClear, the first cat food shown to reduce allergens on a cat’s coat and dander. It uses a special egg protein that binds safely to Fel d 1, and studies show it can lower allergens by about 47% in just three weeks. This doesn’t make a cat hypoallergenic, but it can make living with one much easier. If allergies are a concern talk to us we are happy to consider a food change here.

Please Consider Carefully

Bringing home a kitten is a lifetime commitment. Allergies are real, and it isn’t fair to a kitten to be returned because their new family didn’t prepare or take the time to manage them properly. If you have concerns, please talk with your doctor, learn about tools like Purina LiveClear, and make sure you’re truly ready before taking one of our babies home.

From one of our happy customers~She owns our retired Cocopuff.

As someone with allergy induced asthma, I can confidently say that PurinaProPlan has helped  me to have happy healthy cats in my home while significantly reducing the toll they take on my allergies. I love my kitties and can’t imagine life without them! However, I do also enjoy breathing in my home unburdened by wheezing created from allergies around me. That’s the biggest difference I notice when using Purina Pro Plan. I do still notice the allergies that I have as a result of my kitties, but they much less noticeable. My normal wheeze is gone, instead of a runny nose there’s just occasional sniffles.
